We chose this cruise to visit Morocco and several ports we had not been to but the Moroccan ports were cancelled at the last minute. Although this was a complete overreaction by the cruise line and we were disappointed it was followed by many other disappointments. The food onboard is nowhere as good as that offered precovid, ie some cold dishes and the flavour and variety has deteriorated. We had a meal in one of the specialty restaurants and paid the extra $30 for lobster thermidor which was very small and not by any means special. The upmarket restaurants were definitely not worth the upgrade cost for the restaurant or the food. The entertainment was a mixed bag and some of the larger shows were very good however the more common shows were poorly attended for good reason. Several bands, groups and artists were onboard playing in the smaller venues and all but one called excel were very poor resulting in the venue where excel played being overcrowded and poorly serviced. Lastly we come to organisation onboard. Precovid Norwegian were very organised and everything went well but now they are very poor. Embarkation day we were bombarded with loud announcements from about 2pm until at least 7pm with nearly all repeated in several languages, whilst realising the need to inform guests about safety onboard constant adds for packages etc is extremely annoying and does not start the cruise well. On the last day of the cruise we were delayed into port by a couple of hours and some guests with early flights were worried, there was little help and long waits at the counters and just prior to disembarkation the midship lift area was so full people could not get out of the lifts on the correct floor, people were so tightly packed staff made announcements and had to physically push some to the assembly areas and reroute the line to leave from the front lounge area. This was not good to see and just the completion to a very poor cruise experience.

I read several reviews about Norwegian Cruises prior to taking this voyage and most dismissed the many complaints online as unfounded but after this cruise I believe some of the reviews must have been paid for content. Norwegian Cruise are nowhere near as good as they were and have a long way to go to match there competitors, they need to improve in most areas. I have sent my view of their cruise to their relevant department but only got back the usual condescending reply indicating they will continue with poor cruises until people become aware and choose better companies offerings at similar prices.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin was quite good although several small lights etc needed replacing. The bathroom was very good with a separate toilet with a door. This was excellent for us but made the toilet room small and some may find it too small for comfort.
