Of course we sailed Oceania for the food, and we were not desappointed. We are Celebrity & HAL cruises fans, it was our first experience on Oceania and not the last. I wouldnt select them for a transatlantic cruise cause the boat is a bit to quiet, our 10 days Mediterranean cruise with a new port everyday,, this Riviera is perfect. You wonder when or if you will get lobster on any other cruise boat, on the Riviera you have it everyday,,, even at the buffet every night, and even at the Wave Grill where they cook the best hamburger at sea, you can get delicious lobster burger. We got 5 speciality restaurants (free) and all of them was just superb. On their menus you choose foie gras, caviar, lobster, filet Rossini, Oyster Rockfeller,, stunning. You get expresso/capuccino selfservice machines everywhere. You do not sail this boat for the shows, the singers/dancer on residence are not very good, but the solo female singer was very good. For our 2 nights stop in Istanbul, they took on board a Turkish music group and a belly dancer for a one night show, it was very good. The gym is basic with 7-8 treadmills, I had to wait only once for few minutes to get a free machine. The tv on the treadmills work fine with a good selection of news channels. There is no frozen wet towels, the antiseptic towel containers were most of the time empty, no clean glasses available for 2 days to drink water and the water container is warm, a little ice in the container would be appreciated. The room with veranda is very good on every aspects, the bathroom is superb, top quality Bulgari beauty product supply,, the best/biggest shower I have seen on any of my last 35+cruises. Surprisingly, people's attire isn't as fancy as what you find on Celebrity or HAL at the chic night or Captain night, deception for my DW. The MDR got weird design, there are tables so close to each other separated only by a rail, you have the neighbor right in front of your plates, other tables near the back window where you feel totally stuck under the tilted window where you hit your head if you get up too quickly,,, few things like that,, but the food is just great. And the staff very proffessional.
