The cruise we dreamed of came true!

Sail Date: July 2010
Destination: Alaska
Embarkation: Seattle
My husband and I just returned from our first cruise ever. We were on the Celebrity Infinity July 23-30th -7 night Alaska Tracy Arm Fjord. We picked the greatest first cruise! Great ship, beautiful scenery and fun ports!

It was a wonderful and memorable way to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Let's just say everything was beyond our expectations. The weather was clear, warm and sunny from the day we left port in Seattle until the last day in Victoria. The scenery was pristine and beautiful. The Tracy Arm Fjord and Sawyer Glacier were breathtaking. We saw wildlife including, bears, whales, seals, and bald eagles. The crew told us the weather had been cold, cloudy and rain on the prior cruises and we were extremely lucky to have such clear and warm weather.

The ports were wonderful and there is so much to do. We did a Glacier/whale watching excursion in Juneau, walked around ourselves in Ketchikan and rented a car from Avis and drove the Klondike Hwy to Carcross in More Skagway. I highly recommend renting a car($120) and doing this drive, using the Murray's Guide. We saw black bears, lakes, waterfalls, eagles and beautiful snow capped mountains along the highway and you can stop along the way to take photos. Bring some food along as there is nowhere to eat!

The Infinity was fantastic- great service, beautiful ship, we loved our C-2 Concierge class balcony stateroom(8054), fun shows, excellent food, great alcoholic choices, friendly neighbors, comfortable places to relax and more great food. Do not miss one night at the SS United States for a memorable 5 course gourmet meal! It only costs $35 per person and it's worth it. Make your reservations in advance. We chose a formal night at sea for ours and we had a wonderful meal and great time. We only encountered one bad experience with our dinner server in the MDR. Since we were on Select Dining we made sure not to have his area the next night and we received an apology and bottle of wine for our trouble.

I know some folks on these boards are pretty rough on the Infinity and say she is due for an update, but we found the ship to be beautiful, clean, well maintained and very elegant. The stateroom was well maintained and very comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate being on this ship again!

Embarkation and debarkation were a breeze!! Celebrity is incredibly organized and it all runs so smoothly. We were on the ship by 11AM and ,upon return,in a towncar to the airport by 8:15AM. Be sure to make use of the Valet Service for disembarking (unless you fly Southwest). It is a great deal- for $20 per person they collect your bags the night before your disembark and check them through to your final destination with the! Priceless!

This cruise was our first, and it was so fantastic, we actually booked another cruise on the Infinity with the same amazing intinerary for July 2011!! They offer you great deals, on board credit and a upgrade to C-1 if you book while on board. So now we begin counting down the days until we cruise to Alaska again. Right now I can't imagine a better cruise. Less
