We just returned from a 7 day cruise down the Mississippi from Memphis to New Orleans. We had waited a full year after maiden voyage to allow Viking to work out any kinks in the cruising process involving a brand new vessel. We were also hoping that the record low Mississippi River levels would not be a factor again this year after the severe drought from last year (lightning doesn't strike twice, right?) Oh well, one out of two ain't bad....

Viking Mississipi - the ship:

The ship is beautifully designed and all spaces were immaculate. Our stateroom was very nice- more than enough storage space and the bathroom and shower were amongst the best I have encountered aboard ship. Our cabin steward- Stazy- was amazing. She kept the stateroom beautiful and made sure we had plenty of ice every day and the minibar and snacks were re-stocked regularly. She would greet us every day and ask if there was anything special we needed. She was a joy.

Penthouse Veranda Stateroom

Spacious, plenty of storage, immaculately clean, excellent balcony and very nice shower.
