I have been to GC three times before. I used to enjoy the 7-mile beach, but it really went downhill after the hurricane hit. This time I tried something different. I used Stingray City Tours and went to see the stingrays. We hopped on a bus and took a boat out to the sand bar. I highly recommend the company and the experience. It was crazy seeing the stingrays! They were gentle and huge. I fed it squid and was honestly freaked out by the whole thing. It was like a vacuum sucked food out of your hand. Regardless, I suggest feeding them. After that we went snorkeling in two locations. In the water I got to hold squid and watch as dozens of fish ate it out of my hands. I definitely recommend asking the guide to give you some type of food to feed the fish. Beautiful snorkeling. 


Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We took a taxi out to Chakannab National Park. We booked a tour through the dolphin discovery center. After settling in we went to swim with the dolphins. We did the mid-range tour, which was about $103 pp (although we got a discount by booking early). The experience including hugging, kissing, boogie board ride and a pectoral fin ride with the dolphins. It was nothing short of memorable. I'll never forget the experience. The dolphins are big! They flipped in front of us and made noises out of their blow hole. It's an expensive activity, but well worth it. Afterwards we got a nice surprise and got to swim with the manatees. They were so cool! We fed it lettuce. It was my dream to do that. I was so pleased. After we got to go to the sea lion show which was cool. *NOTE* Upon booking the tour they tell you no cameras. However, we were able to bring a waterproof camera into the water with us. This saved us a lot of money, as the pictures are expensive. It's $20/photo, $50/dvd, $60/package. Despite the outrageous cost, the pictures and dvd are of excellent quality. 
After that we walked around the fake ruins. It was fun, but bring bug spray. After 15 minutes in there my legs were destroyed and still itch! The park itself is great. Delicious quasadillas, a fun pool, iguanas walking around. Nice place and worth it! If you aren't going to do the dolphins I'd check out Mr. Sanchos, which is a free beach. But if you are going do to the dolphins then the admission is included. 


Cozumel

Costa Maya is a fun port. It was my second time there. After a long walk to the pier, we saw a bunch of shops and a pool. Make sure you check out the spray painter right around the shops. He's brilliant. We bought two paintings from him. 
We took a bus to Mahahual. It's a nice beach with tons of shops and stores right on the sand. I recommend getting a beach massage ($30/hr). The Mexicans are very aggressive, and will come right to your lounge chair to sell you things. A 4-year -old even put a necklace on my girlfriend and put out his hand for money. Yikes. They have very good quality stuff though and you can bargain away. Be prepared to get hounded for a while though. The water was warm, the atmosphere was nice. $5 per chair. 
Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. It was simply OK. I'm sure it's good in other areas, but not on the beach. I liked it much better in Cozumel. There's not that much to do in Costa Maya, but it's a great beach day. 


Costa Maya

Roatan is a beautiful island off of Honduras. We booked a tour through Bodden, which I highly recommend. We hired a private guide for all day. $40/pp for 2 people. It was fun! Unfortunately the weather stunk (pouring ALL day). After a tour around the island in which we saw ship wrecks and views, we went to the zip lines. This was my first time doing anything like this. FUN! It wasn't cheap ($45/pp), but did include admission to the monkeys. The zip line itself was great, and we had an excellent tour guide. If you want to you can purchase pictures for $20/cd. It is probably worth it, although I didn't get it because we took our own. 
After the thrilling zip line we played with Victor Bodden's monkeys. They were nuts! *TIP* Buy fruit loops. They love 'em. Be prepared though, the monkeys are aggressive and will go after them. For example, I had them in my hand and one bit me to try to get to 'em. It didn't really hurt, but it threw me off. Also my girlfriend got pick pocketed by one of them. They really are crazy. While there, I heard many women screaming as the monkeys jumped on their heads. One performed a blind jump on my head as well, which was not the most fun thing! But looking back on it, it was an amazing experience. You will experience sensory overload as the monkeys jump all over you. Bring the fruit loops and prepare for craziness. 
After that we went on a glass bottom boat snorkel tour. Roatan is surrounded by a huge barrier reef (second only to the Great Barrier Reef). It was beautiful. It would have been better if it was sunny, but the coral wonder was definitely there. I recommend going early in the day, as I was told the sun angle makes for nice lighting. 
Next we went to the stone castle cameo tour. It was nice, but a disappointment. I thought we'd see more of how they actually made the shells. A short stop though if you wanna see some nice carvings. 
Roatan was a lot of fun. Also don't forget to try the balliados, a Honduran treat. Yum! 


Roatan

8144 - oceanview with balcony. We checked into a room filled with chocolate and open bottles.  It was a mess.  The people before us were horrible.  But after it was cleaned up we really enjoyed our room.  It had plenty of space and was definitely livable.  The balcony was great too.  We really enjoyed it.

Otherwise, if you value high-quality food and entertainment and want a beautiful (but not over-the-top) ship, the Solstice-class is one heck of a choice.There were so many choices with generally very good quality food.
