Cabin: Spacious Ocean View Balcony

We chose this cruise to get an extra 4 C&A points to boost us up to Diamond/Celebrity Elite for booking upcoming cruises. Also, we had not been to Catalina or Ensenada before, so this was a reasonable choice of itinerary. Our dates were constrained as well, so we settled on early November for this cruise.

We booked our own flights, and arrived with minimal time due to a 2 hour delay arriving at LAX. At least we had booked the RCI transfer, so they waited for us to arrive. We boarded easily and settled into our cabin.

We bid for an upgrade and got a slightly larger cabin for not a lot more money. We won't know if this was worthwhile or not, but we probably could have saved some money by sticking with our original cabin.

Cabin Review

Spacious Ocean View Balcony

Cabin was a paid upgrade for us. We had booked a balcony guarantee and were assigned The first thing we noticed was that our room was looking tired. The carpet was a bit worn and the curtain had stains and a big tear in it. The sink drain was corroded and the cabinets were worn too. The bed was comfortable enough, and our cabin attendant did a reasonable job keeping things going. He even took the time to fold some towel animals, which we did not expect.

Port Reviews

Catalina Island (California)

A nice stop. We had lunch in port and walked around town. The shopping was decent, and we liked coming here.

I wish we had a bit more time here to check things out. As it was, we spent most of the day transferring from the ship to downtown and then taking a tour to La Bufadora. It's a ways from the port, and there was some traffic due to construction, but the blow hole was worth the trip. We had no time to walk around the town.
