We previously cruised with Holland America, Princess, and Carnaval. We chose this cruise for the interesting ports and for the food experience. We did Oceania tours at every port and were happy with all. They were well organized and very informative. Embarkation was easy, as long as one did the online preparation. We were on board by 11:30 am on embarkation day and had lunch on the Terrace Buffet.
Food at all locations was excellent, although we did not find the speciality restaurants food any better than the main dining room or the buffet, although the service was special. We found the Terrace buffet was very good and had a great variety of selections that changed daily. Not your typical buffet. We also found Baristas great for coffee or a little snack. We did room service for early breakfasts, which always arrived on time.
We did not attend any of the entertainment sessions or use any fitness equipment.
Our conceriege level veranda room was fine. The cabin steward came twice a day and very attentive to our needs and schedule. We had brought along a US type power strip for plugging in our phones, tablets and other equipment which was very helpful as the only US plugs were on the desk. We also brought along a converter to use at the bedside as the only electrical plugs there were European. Internet is now available in the room for 2 users at a time. We did find the balcony chairs very comfortable and spent quite a bit of time there.
