This cruise was a part of a school tour. Itinerary included several ports we have never been to, and it was on the Danube. The ship is new and in good condition. The service was excellent. We thought the food was probably some of the best we have had on a cruise ship. The portions were just the right size. The stops and tours were good. Enjoyed the bike tours that were included. The issue we had, was that we purchased and paid for a cabin category that was not what we were placed in. Not sure where the blame falls, however, the brochure shows a cabin that in reality doesn't match what we had. As the cabin pictures show, It caused me to have some distress to see that my 78 year old wife had to sit on the bed to see out the window we paid extra for. It wasn't very comfortable as you might Imagin. The cabin issue was brought to the attention of the Amadeus and the tour operator.

Cabin Review

Cabin on the Straus deck suffers from a stairway that reduces the cabin dimension by four feet. Our cabin was at best 140 sq ft. Well below the brochure specifications for any cabin. Space between the bed and window or closet was at best one foot. That necessitated placing the chairs between the end of the bed and the bathroom. Chairs blocked access to storage and opening the bathroom door. The only way to make use of the drop-down window was to sit on the bed. Bedside storage was reduced to a six in drawer. The desk as shown in the brochure was not there. The walk-in closet was also reduced. There are four cabins in the B-4 Straus deck. This cabin should be included and avoided.
