This was our second transpacific relocation cruise with Princess and was originally chosen to fit in LA pre-cruise and the port call to Maui. The change in itinerary due to the devastating fires on Maui was a disappointment but resulted in a bonus stop-over in Moorea which is some ways even surpasses the beauty of Bora Bora which now doesn't cater for ships of Majestic's size.

Boarding in LA was a breeze. Very efficient and well organised. Princess' newish boarding process plus the use of the medallion makes things stress free and the medallion itself worked seamlessly for our purpose throughout the cruise. It was never used for ordering food or drinks throughout the ship, so can't comment on that aspect but for all other requirements there was no issue whatsoever. The Plus or Premium Package is also highly recommended for value if you don't mind a few drinks or regular coffee's (now very good) with the bonus of wi-fi that worked well at sea and specialty dining etc.

The ship itself never seemed crowded even though it was a near full capacity from Honolulu onwards to Auckland where we disembarked. First time on Majestic found her to be a neat and ordered ship with a slightly quirky layout that was quickly deciphered and easy to get around. We noted she was not nearly as ornate in the public areas as the Grand Class ships we had previously been on but nice lines and beautiful in it's own way. It has been well maintained and no visible signs of glaring maintenance issues that we could see. Work was constantly being performed on appearance and cleanliness as is the way of longer relocation cruises. The food was very good in all food venues, no complaints at all. Crown Grill was excellent as was the main dining room and the staff, although seemingly less numerous in some areas than previous cruises, were attentive and happy as always. Attended a few lectures and presentations which were all informative, but we didn't attend any of the entertainment or production shows in the busy public areas as the unwelcome and unpleasant threat of covid was evident as the cruise progressed. Many folk were coughing and sneezing openly with no attempt at basic hygiene measures at a time when this illness is still well and truly around. A bit disappointing but that's people not the cruise line and that was our choice. We took measures like masking in public areas and avoiding crowded lifts etc and thankfully managed to stay free of illness which would have spoiled such a long voyage with so many sea days.

Cabin Review

Balcony

BB Starboard Mid-Aft Balcony. Plenty of storage. Very small balcony. Comfortable bed. Good infotainment system. Check location if considering as noise from crew access areas opposite is bothersome.
