We chose Windstar since they are a "luxury cruise line" and paid the price of a luxury cruise line and didn't receive that experience. The interior of the ship is dated and needs an update. You feel like you are in a retirement home when you go to the main dining areas. The food was cruise ship average and we often skipped meals. The water sports platform wasn't open either of the days as advertised. Active maintenance and smell of fuel while on board. No amenities except for puzzles, board games, and old DVDs. Deck BBQ was offered the only day we were in port until 10 pm and people had the option to do dinner off ship. Alarm woke us at 4 am one morning. Specific times of shuttle not advertised until you tried to get off ship in Dubrovnik. Skipped our first port due to weather, however, a decision could have been made by the captain at 5 am when he heard from port authority, instead he waited until after 8 am to make a decision and we lost an entire day off ship with minimal activities planned to occupy guests. Late departure to get off the ship (7:30 am was supposed to be departure time and the doors were blocked until 8 am). Average age of the cruise we took was 65+.
