We booked this river cruise one month out for October. Not sure we would even be able to get a room. Our travel agent (Affordable Tours) found us one on the Avalon line. We had room and worried that it was not a good spot, being as it was the first one). It turned out to be a great location. Next to the main lobby and restaurants. He had us go a week later for a great cruise rate.

The boat was wonderful and the cruise was more than we expected. So smooth and quiet. The food was very good and the soups were excellent. Staff was as good as we expected, and how they remember our names with all those people always amazes me, even our favorite drinks.

We started in Budapest (suggest going a day early), Bratislava, Vienna, Linz, and Passau and loved all the old towns, but be ready for lots of walking…up hill and on tons of cobblestones. Our old bodies took a beating, haha.

Cabin Review

Thought we would miss a balcony but did not. First off, it was rather cool (in the low 60’s but great travel weather). Liked the large window doors and bed facing out to the river. Bathroom was way better than most ships we’ve been on, very good size and storage. Lots of plugs to plug in your electronics.
