Cruised on Oceania a few yeas ago and decided to book with them again. This was a mistake. We had a penthouse suite, it was okey. The mattress was well past its prime. It's a beautiful ship and the service was first rate.
The line advertises the best cuisine at sea. I was not impressed. There are four speciality restaurants: the only one that was outstanding was the Italian restaurant. The Asian restaurant was so bad we saw guests walk out. The buffet was rather bland and not much variety. The food is not much better than Princes.
The problem we had with Oceania concerns customer service and the medical department. We had booked by Oceania on a non stop flight from Denmark to Los Angeles. We also paid for upgraded seats. Oceania booked a flight that was too early and had to be change. Instead of a non stop flight we where booked on a flight that stopped in Newark, and had to change airlines for the flight to Los Angeles. They booked us in coach. This problem was discussed with the concierge on the ship several ties. Oceania refused to get us and upgraded seat, I checked, they where available on the flight they picked for us. They also refused to return the fee we paid for the upgraded seating. To This date, after several request nothing has been done.
