First of all, the ship is just beautiful. It’s understated, not the usual cruise ship glitz. The artwork was great. The atrium and the shops were just beautiful- the shops are in a two deck area so the height gave the impression of far more room than the usual crowded area. There are little areas, like Team Earth on 7, where you can just relax alone on comfortable chairs. Never a problem finding a lounger for sun.
The crew was fantastic. Our cabin steward was in there early (we are early risers) and turned the bed down early (we go to early dining and then back to the cabin). Spotless. The MDR staff was responsive and friendly, the lido staff was the same.
The food was cruise ship food, meaning good but not great. It was a cut above Carnival and NCL and even HAL. But still, the steak was tough and the chicken was pumped full of water and basically hard by the time you got it. Good selection of items in the lido (Oceanview Cafe) and never a problem getting a table. Breakfast in the MDR was totally worth it.
Balcony cabin, very far forward. Typical balcony room. Downside: lack of plugs and super small bedside tables. Also lack of shelving in the closet! Get ready to hang everything you bring. Upside: incredible bathroom. Just beautiful. Lotion, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, facial wipes to take off makeup.
