We recently went on a 7 day cruise around Hawaii on Pride of America. We got there early to check in and had to wait for about an hour in chairs but they put on a great Hawaiian show to watch. Boarded the ship and went straight to the restuarant bookings. We did buy the wine (I upgraded one of the bottles on the night that was due) and dine package and saved about $100. The teppanyaki restaurant was fun and tasty, the service in the Italian restaurant was not good at all, but the food was tasty. My only complaint on the food for the whole trip was that desserts were not good, very bland. Being in the restaurant business I did expect more from them. However the staff were friendly and fun and told us lots of tips for things to do on each stop. We booked the excursions through NCL and had a blast. Did the zip line in Kauai which was terrifying and did Capt Zodiac which was fun and informative. Saw dolphins (they do go out of their way to find the dolphins). Our room was with a balcony right by the elevator. We never heard any outside noise at all. It was great. The higher floors are the way to go - they don't rock as much as the lower floors. We definitely felt the movement more the lower we got.

On the first day when you go to the aloha cafe - get your food and head out back. You can sit outside at the back of the ship and enjoy the food. There is a white party one night that we were not told about so had nothing white to wear.....pack something white! The comedian was funny and we went to ALL his shows and they were different every time. Were too tired to do any of the other shows. Loved the happy hours. The saloon has a margarita happy hour $4.95 for a frozen passion fruit margarita (get the frozen ones, they are made fresh and are stronger) That is from 5-6. Then from 6-7 is Sangria Happy hour which was good but we ended up just getting a couple more margaritas to see us through that hour. Then we had dinner with wine and then at 9pm it is mai tai, cosmos appletinis etc for $4.95. We saved money by following the happy hours.

Had soooo much fun and would do it again in a heartbeat. Going to try for the Caribbean next year :)
