Just got off ship 2 days ago. This was our first time with royal Caribbean…and probably our last time. We booked this cruise to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and thought it would be fun. Room was outdated but decent. There was mold around the our bathroom sink and scattered all over in the shower…ok, i get it, it’s damp in there. Ok. Entertainment was slim. Only 1 comedy show and it was pretty PG because of all the kids. You have to pay extra for the extra food options onboard (Johnny rockets, etc). soft served ice cream only found on 11th floor and they close early. You gotta pay if you want ben and jerrys ice cream on the 5th floor. Only soda machines are on 5th and 11th floor (and they close off the 11th floor locations when that dinning area closes). We went to sports bar and i asked for water and they charged us for bottled water. All that is fine but last straw was on day 3 our toilet stopped working! It wouldn’t flush!! Someone fixed it while we went away but then again at night it stopped working again and didn’t flush! water was having trouble draining in the shower too. We were told they were having issues with plumbing in our part of the ship. So there we were moving to another room at 11pm in our PJs and all of our luggage…what a pain! We’ve never had to do this with princess or carnival. Food is decent at buffet. The buffet food seemed to be pretty similar menu at main dining room so we just skipped our assigned dinner and went to buffet. Pizza was good but it was pretty much the only thing available after 9 (unless you order room service). The food and housekeeping staff were very nice and hardworking. Royal offered us discount for our next cruise with them because of our experience with mold and toilet …but we passed as we don’t see us cruising with them anytime soon.
