We selected Carnival for this cruise because we took our grandchildren (ages 10 &14) with us. This is our 22nd cruise and the third with Carnival.

First, let me mention the negatives. There was a disgusting sewerage smell in the hallways which fortunately never found it's way into our cabin. The service on the ship was adequate at best. The staff would never say hello and if we didn't greet them first, they would turn their heads away. The layout of the ship was very inconvenient. As an example, we dined in the Scarlet dining room on deck 3 aft. After dining, we preferred to go to the Encore Theater for a show. The theater was on deck 3, forward. There was no corrider connecting fore and aft. We had to take an elevator to either deck 2 or deck 4. We were then able to walk to the front of the ship and then take an elevator back to deck 3 to enter the theater. The elevators were crowded and many times were full when it stopped to pick us up.

Now for the positives.

Cabin Review

Cabin 5A

Cabin 1300 ocean view on deck 1. Our cabin was located mid-ship. Each night we could clearly hear the noise of the water hitting the hull as the ship moved. The hallway was very noisy. It appeared that a "Teen Tour" booked several inside cabin on our deck and the teenagers were quite noisy and partying in the hallways at 1 or 2AM.
