Chose this cruise because we wanted to see Fall Colors in Canada/New England and had had favorable experiences on Princess in the past.
However, this is an OLD ship (2004 refurbished 2019) and shows its age as well as lack of modern amenities. Although we didn't pay the most for our oceanview cabin we did not expect it to have bunk beds which protruded from the wall on either side of the queen bed, making you stoop and duck every time you got in or out of the bed in order to prevent yourself from banging your head on them. If you stoop down to use the drawer in the bedside stand and then stand up, you will hit your head on the bunk protrusion. My husband did this several times and was NOT happy.
The floor plan of the ship is impossible! On some levels you cannot walk through from one end of the ship to the other so you have to take the elevator to a certain level, get off and walk a distance, then get back on the elevator and travel back to the floor you want. Also, not all elevators go to all floors so it is a constant mystery. To further this, they no longer print maps of the ship for you to carry around so as late as the last cruise day, people were still walking around asking others how to get from Point A to Point B. Impossible!!
