Fresh off a 10-day British Isles on the Regal Princess from 9/29-10/9. Overall, had a wonderful trip with 4 people in our party. Emerald deck Deluxe Balcony Obstructed view. No issues with the view, only the top of the lifeboats which were flat and you could see perfectly above them. The balcony actually felt heated because of being on deck 8. Embarkation was literally like 15 minutes but we arrived at 2PM after coming in on the train from London Waterloo to Southampton.
Room- Cabins were totally fine but showing wear on the furniture and carpet. Storage space is more limited as compared to the newer ships. (IE. Enchanted for Majestic). A word of caution, the toilets were constantly getting plugged up and not working, we had to call for maintenance a minimum of 5 times during the 10-days.
Food- Breakfast buffet was very good, tons of options. My only compliant here is that it wasn't very warm. Oatmeal was luke warm at best. Salad bar options were plentiful at lunch with lots of toppings and dressing choices. I was unimpressed with the buffet for dinner. YES, there was a ton of food but it was kind of dry and not the best even if you were there early. We only did the buffet once for dinner and choose to do the dining room the other nights. Favorite dining rooms options were the filet, prime rib, all of the fish, and all of the pasta dishes. We did not care for the soups, except the french onion. Most all of the desserts were excellent in the main dining room. (Better than up at the buffet). The cookies however in the buffet/international cafe were amazing. PB, Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate, and Oatmeal were all excellent!
