What we liked: Everything Viking did was great! The ship was modern, spotless, right-sized....just an overall wonderful ship. The staff and crew were very friendly and always willing to help. We always found something good to eat and gained the customary poundage. The destinations were fabulous on this itinerary.

What we didn't like as much: Sea days were somewhat boring. Yes, we could have played cards, attended a seminar, put together a puzzle, or drank all day, but that's not what we enjoy. We are active in our mid-50s and want to see and experience things. This is not a knock on Viking AT ALL. We knew there would be three sea days but felt the destinations would be worth it anyway. Also, landing at a port is a drawback. Getting bussed everywhere wasn't as nice as a river cruise where you step off the boat and you are at your destination, or very close to it. Again, this is NOT a knock on is just why we prefer rivers over oceans.

In the end, we were very happy that we took this trip. We will probably exhaust river destinations before we go on another ocean cruise. Who knows, maybe we'll enjoy ocean cruising when we get a little older.

Cabin Review

I was pleasantly surprised with the size and accommodations of the room.
