We can’t say enough about how fabulous our Rhine River cruise was on the Idun. Viking handled all of the details and we couldn’t be more impressed. Flight layovers were long enough that we didn’t have to worry about missing a connection (but not annoyingly long, either). Transfer from the airport to the ship was perfect. Our room was delightful. Small, but we knew we wouldn’t be spending much time there, and we didn’t! There was plenty of storage space for everything and the bed was quite comfortable. The crew on the ship was phenomenal…every.single.one.of.them. They were professional, helpful and delightful, all rolled into one. The meals were exceptional and we loved that there was always a “local fare” option to try. Portions were perfect. Bar and wait staff were charming and efficient. Excursions were exceptional with local, knowledgeable and friendly guides. The sites along this cruise were incredible; Europe is so rich in history. We added two additional days in Lucerne and our only regret was that it allowed no time to explore Basel. Lucerne was beautiful and the hotel that Viking booked was over the top lovely. Viking is all about quality service and they excel at what they do. We can’t imagine a more perfect vacation and look forward to going again!!

Cabin Review

We had a French balcony room and it was very terrific. The bed, pillows & linens were very comfortable. It was nice being able to open the sliding glass door. The room was well equipped including a safe, high quality toiletries and even a clothes line in the shower.
