This was a great cruise! This was my and my husband's 4th cruise, and we were joined by my parents for their first ever cruise, and by our 4 and 7 year old children. We spent the night before the cruise in Fort Lauderdale, as flights were considerably cheaper for Fort Lauderdale versus Miami. We stayed at AmeriSuites in Fort Lauderdale, and they had a complimentary shuttle that picked us up at the airport. The hotel was clean and quiet, and I highly recommend it. We ate dinner at the Outback Steakhouse which was right next door.
We arrived at the dock in Miami at about 12 noon, and were allowed to begin the embarkation process, which was very organized and ran smoothly. Our rooms were ready, and we received the itinerary of the day's events, and made a point to check out the kids programs. The kids program is divided into 5 age groups, and the program was so much fun and organized, that my children literally begged me to allow them to go to the 'Kids CLub'. My 4 year old didn't want to play on the beach in Nassau, he wanted to be in the kids club. They did arts and crafts, and had guest visitors like the Captain and a clown, and played games, and had 'Pirate night' and face painting, and on and on. They even earned 'dollars' for attending, and they redeemed them on the last night for nice items like t-shirts, visors, and shoulder bags.
We had just a standard room on deck 10, but it had plenty of room for everything, and was larger than I remembered the 'cheaper' rooms being. You spend so little time in your room, that it was perfect.
