We recently completed our Second Cruise i With MSC on the Meravigilla to Bermuda.  Our first cruise was with the Divinia in the Caribbean. It was wonderful. The boat was wonderful, We were able to choose our room,  the entertainment outstanding and the food was none like we had experienced with a cruise line We received wonderful incentives . Balcony room, On board credit and Free all inclusive drink package. We could not wait to sail again with MSC. So we booked our place on the Meravigilla in January for our recent trip in September. We chose our room and dining time because my husband needed to first seating for health reasons. Ready to go. When we arrived . Our room has been changed, our dining time had been moved to the 3rd seating and we were being charged for entertainment. On all of our contact information it clearly states entertainment free to guests. This is from their website Questions for MSC guests: Are there additional costs for the performances? There answer ;

It is free for guests to attend the performances held on board MSC cruise

On our itinerary It clearly shows our seating time .We stood in line over an hour on boarding day to have them switch seating only to be told that they were closing for today and we would have to come back tomorrow . We went to early seating and took our Itinerary and were turned away with the explanation that they were not allowed to change our seating . We ate the buffet . This went on our entire trip! Had it not been for the excellent manager in the Wave Restaurant we would have never gotten to eat in a dining room. We received no perks at all this time, not even an invite for former cruisers for MSC. My husband and I are retired college professors . We save up every year to take one cruise. I could maybe  understand paying the full price for everything due to the economy, but having extra charges for entertainment and not being allowed to eat in the dining room? I have never ever cruised with a company that made us pay for entertainment that was not nearly as good as the Divinia! We also had an early flight out of Newerk. We kept our suitcases with us to disembark early. Every cruise line except MSC has a first call for early flights. We had to stand in line forever and the employee was unsympathetic, saying “Everyone else in this line has to be somewhere.” There was an event close to the the ship location and the city had block roads coming in. Cab service was limited and we missed our flight . We called the airlines and they were able to book us on another flight to Charlotte but in the evening. We then had a Three hour drive to Tennessee from Charlotte. I feel that as a customer we received a lot of misrepresentation from MSC. The company needs to change the website to say there is a cost for entertainment, also that you will not be allowed to select your room or dining time and for customers to bring all books or something to occupy their time of because there is not enough to do on the ship if you do not pay extra.  Also there is not a lot to do in Bermuda in the evenings and MSC closes up everything except on bar at 11:00 pm. The food is gone what little there was left after large groups from one nationality stuffed all the fresh fruit and bread salad in their large shopping bags daily leaving none for others.
