As loyal Celebrity Select Captains Club Members - This is our fourth Celebrity cruise, and the second on this lovely ship. We pre purchased the Drinks, Wi-Fi and Gratuities Package, when booking the cruise. We didn’t book any excursions, as few seemed wheelchair friendly and we are happy to re discover places under our own steam.Having said that, the distance between where the ship docks and the town - often described as 10-15 minutes walk, has in reality been considerably longer. Few shuttle bus have been provided.
We chose the Canaries Cruise, fairly late - having visited them before pre pandemic - because of the relaxing cruise itself, the likely weather and the chance to be “ spoilt for choice” every night in the main dining room ( MDR). Sadly that has not been the case with Celebrity,
The ship itself is spacious, with ample seating both in lounges and the theatre. The staff are magnificent - always smiling, willing to help and do an excellent job of looking after you. My wife is in a Power Wheelchair and needs plenty of support, particularly leaving and re entering the ship - and gets it! The concierge cabin on deck 12 is comfortable and the balcony well shaded from the inevitable sun! More importantly the cabin is well insulated from the nightly “din” emanating till late from the Grand Foyer level 3 -usually full blast drums and singer. Why Celebrity feels the need to provide and then amplify nightly rock, pop and jazz music, to a largely over 65 audience - beats me! The same was sadly true of Princess!
