We recently did our first river cruise (Romantic Danube) on the Viking Var that sailed from Budapest to Regensburg. We also took advantage of the 2 day pre-arrival stay in Budapest. From the minute Viking met us at the airport to when we disembarked in Regensburg we were so impressed with how smoothly everything ran. On board we had the BEST cruise director, Benne. She was upbeat and cheerful and even made getting up early for the excursions fun. The rest of the staff were all so nice & helpful & went out of their way to get to know you. Viking has some of the best local guides leading the included & optional tours. They tell you about the history and culture. One of our guides commented that we were lucky to be on a Viking ship, because everything runs smoothly & like clockwork. This cruise far exceeded our expectations. We are already planning our next river cruise with Viking.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

We had a Veranda balcony cabin. The cabins are small, but we honestly didn't spend much time in our cabin. We enjoyed having the balcony especially coming into a city in the mornings.
