We had previously taken an eight day cruise of the Mediterranean with Viking. That cruise was the first cruise we had ever taken. We were so happy and impressed by that cruise, that we decided we wanted to do another, but for a longer duration, as soon as it was over. We chose the Trade Routes of the Middle Ages for our second cruise based on the ports visited (we love all of Europe, but especially England, and had never been to its Cornwall area) and the longer length of this cruise. We were very pleased with the itinerary, the excursions, and the overall coordination and execution of every aspect of the cruise by Viking. We liked the food, service, and time flexibility of the World Cafe, that we mainly ate there as opposed to the 3 restaurants on the ship. We did dine at Manfredi’s for dinner two times during our cruise and thoroughly enjoyed that as well (also excellent food and service). My wife and I are both 57, and this cruise was our 38th wedding anniversary gift to each other, and I can say we were both very happy with our gift!

Cabin Review

We booked a Veranda (V2) cabin, but were pleasantly surprised with an unexpected upgrade to a Deluxe Veranda (DV2) cabin the week before embarkation. The cabin was laid out very efficiently for its size, and everything was immaculately kept up by the staff throughout our stay.
