I am a regular Carnival cruiser, but decided to branch out of my comfort zone and try MSC at the encouragement of my mother. She had heard wonderful things about the line and their Yacht Club, so on our first mother-daughter cruise post-Covid I booked the 8/20/23 sailing aboard Seaside in the YC.
Embarkation was a breeze...literally from the time we dropped our luggage with the porters to the time we stepped into the Top Sail lounge we never stopped moving. From that point on, we were pampered beyond belief, and our butler Arnold was everything I had heard he would be! Any request we had (and we really didn't have many, just simple restocking of minibar drinks, seperating the beds, etc) were handled swiftly, and I swear he and his assistant are undercover agents...we never saw them service the room, and some days we hardly ever left (we enjoyed a lot of time on the balcony) but we would come back after 10-15 minutes and it was all done up!
The food in YC was delicious, and the portions were generous. However, I do understand how people not in YC may not have the same opinion on the food....one evening we visited the main buffet just to check it out, and the food there (except the pizza....that was delicious!) was not appealing at all. I heard this from several others throughout the week, so I do not think it was just me.
