We took this cruise to see what MSC is all about. Never sailed on any other cruise line before just NCL. But with recent cutbacks in many areas and the increased cost to sail with them, it was time to try something else.
In the past MSC has been blasted with so many negative reviews, everything from “ too European “, poor entertainment, bad service, and questionable negative food reviews, thing only two things that were positive were pizza and the Yacht Club.
We originally booked a balcony cabin with a Fantastica experience. The price compared to a similar NCL cruise on the Joy was about half the cost. We submitted a minimal bid on a Yacht Club Interior Cabin, which was awarded to us but they gave us a YC 1 suite cabin instead.
YC1 cabin similar in size to a H9 cabin on the NCL Getaway. Plenty of storage for two people, wish they had more American power outlets. A huge TV was on the wall, a coffee machine was in the room, and supplies were located below in the cabinet. Walk-in shower with a wand and rain shower head, plenty of shelves in the bathroom.
