Received a great price from Carnival from the VIFPP program...an oceanview suite with Cheers package and lots of added perks. In all, Carnival would have paid for us to get on! Even had transfers to and from the cruise port via SUV compliments of Carnival! Lots of presents including fresh fruit and wine, power bank, backpack and kangaroos delivered to our cabin throughout the cruise.
But, we are of an older demographic and this cruise just did not tick all the boxes. The cabin even though a suite was about the same size as many other cruises normal cabins. It was comfortable but a little cramped.
There were carpet dryers all over the ship when we embarked, including in our hallway, plus we had a wet spot on the carpet outside of our bathroom. They started up one dryer at 11.30pm when we went to bed! Had not been on all day and we thought it odd to start at that time of night PLUS it was very noisy. We had to ask them to turn off the dryer which they did reasonably promptly...BTW the carpet was dry.
Was comfortable and heaps of storage space but rather cramped. We have cruised with other cruise lines and the Carnival suite would have been equivalent to a minisuite with Princess or Concierge class with Celebrity. Heaps of usb and powerpoints in the room - including Australian ones, which was ideal.
Been here many times but the eateries and brewery in walking distance of the ship are terrific.
The whales here put on a spectacular show. We are not water sport people but many passengers remarked snorkelling around the wrecks was better than visiting the Great Barrier Reef.
