The cruise started well after a short train ride from Rome to the terminal and a bus to the ship. First impressions were great and we spent the first day exploring the ship and having a few drinks at different bars. We had an AquaClass room and our tip is to look for a layout where the bed is close to the window. We enjoyed sleeping with the window open and hearing the sea. It was also impressive to wake up to a sea view as we arrived in port. We ate in the Blu restaurant, Cosmopolitan, and for one night we paid extra for Eden. The standard was high in all, and the service excellent. The room at the Cosmo was the best for views and design. Eden was great but I'm not sure it's worth another £100 over what we already paid. Food was to a high standard and the staff were happy to let you have a selection of starters and couldn't do enough. Also a good selection of wines were available.

We had the basic package and that was good enough for us to enjoy a selection of wines and cocktails over the cruise. Food at the buffet Oceanview was good with a wide selection for breakfast and lunch. The pool area was never overcrowded, even on sea day and we enjoyed sunbathing around the pool. There was entertainment on deck most nights, as well as live musicians playing at bars all across the ship during the evening. There was so much going on you couldn't see it all.

The live theatre shows were to a high standard with live band, singers and dancers. The cast also did late shows in the club as a bonus. We did one shore trip with Celebrity and getting ashore on the tenders was easy.

Cabin Review

AquaClass Stateroom with Veranda

Our cabin was on the 10th deck with the configuration where the bed was near the window. I would recommend this. Good amenities and space. The cabin as soundproofed well, when the announcements were made in the corridor you couldn't hear them from the room. The infinite veranda worked well for us and for most of the cruise we had the window open and the blind up. On the rare occasion it was too hot and humid we closed the window and the air-con worked wall. There was plenty of wardrobe space and a fridge. The attendant was pleasant and kept the room tidy and clean.
