Sail Date: Sep 2023

We decided to take NCL Joy to New England & Canada because we were impressed with how well the ship was run when we were on it the end of May 2023 to Bermuda. There must have been a complete change in crew because it was so disorganized! We booked a family suite with virtual balcony for the two of us. 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms & a sitting area. Like a little apartment! Loved it, except the cabin was so ill prepared! No robes, no water in refrigerator, the wrong Latitudes card, 1 dirty glass in the bathroom. Because one of our days and 2 of our ports was taken away due to a hurricane in Bermuda, (still waiting for our credit!) we had to go stand in line for 30 minutes to change our restaurant reservations. Stood in line to get the correct latitudes card for another 30 minutes, was the wrong line. Stood in line again to try and get our cabin straightened out. After filing a report, they couldn't have been more accommodating. Also, while we had "priority" luggage tags, probably got our luggage last. Not a great start to a cruise! We enjoyed Prince Edward Island, been to Halifax several times, Sydney and Quebec were nice but Cornerbrook was depressing. I probably wouldn't recommend this cruise. This time my sister and husband contracted COVID. Last time it was me. Think I'm done for awhile.

Port Reviews

Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island)

I would probably suggest just doing a walking tour.

Corner Brook

A very depressive area around the port. We did Tastes and Traditions of Newfoundland. Entertainment was great, food was good but very, very small portions.

Halifax

Coastal Drive to Peggy's Cove - hour each way, 20 minutes to stand on rocks.

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

Heart of the Island - hour each way to Gaelic Village where there were so many people you couldn't really enjoy it.

Quebec City

Ste-Ann-de-beupre & Falls: Falls were beautiful, had 20 minutes there, on to a Copper Museum, almost an hour there and then Ste-Ann-de-beupre for about 45 minutes. Beautiful cathedral. We had a great guide.
