I enjoyed this cruise, but prefer the Oasis class versus the Freedom class (first time). I have been on the Voyager of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas (2x), and Radiance of the Seas.
I sailed on the Liberty of the Seas on 8/24 (first cruise of season) packed for totally different weather. Bring pants and jackets. Do not expect to be able to sit out on your balcony unless you do not mind the cold. Realize that on this ship (in contrast to the Oasis class with more passengers), you will not need to make show reservations, you just go. Embarkment at Bayonne was a breeze, first time I was able to walk right onto a ship. Dis-embarkment was easy as well, but be careful on that last morning. The floor in the public restroom across from the Windjammer Buffet was soaking wet most likely due to their getting ready for oncoming passengers and cleaning it. There was a sign, but it was not safe to walk which makes me wonder if the safety of passengers leaving the ship is still considered.
The menu in the main dining room changed and is now divided into different types of themes by food nationalities. It was limited and there were not as many food options as I am used to from my previous cruises on RCCL. If you do not show up exactly on time, your table can be given away for the rest of the cruise, first time this every happened in my life. It was formal night and we were taking pictures. Speak up if this happens. We luckily got our table back. The buffet was good, but it was hard to find a table and I did not like to sit at a table that was vacant, but still had to be cleaned.
