We felt this was a bucket list trip. We enjoyed it so much we are going to try and plan and budget for another. Staff and services were top-rate. Excursions were well-planned and executed. You don’t have to pay extra for good value sight-seeing trips. The guides were knowledgeable and usually entertaining. If you do pay for extra excursions they are usually worth the extra cost. The cabin is small but that’s to be expected on a river cruise. I wouldn’t expect to stay in the cabin much anyway. Our lower cabin was much the same as upper floors in terms of size. The food was great at every meal with many choices. We didn’t buy a drink package because wine or beer served with meals was as much as we wanted. For anything else, we could bring our own and keep it in our room. Viking cruises have earned their reputation for being amongst the best in the industry.
