We sailed regularly with Cunard until 2018 so this was our first voyage for 5 years. It was a last minute booking 3 days before departure so a very hectic schedule arranging Insurance, parking , cat boarding and, of course packing. Unfortunately the usual converientl parking facilities were full so had to use a "Meet & Greet "service, which was not a very pleasant experience. We always prefer early dining so took advantage of the "Open Dining" which is a rather new innovation, but worked well for us.Our normal evening procedure is to eat fairly early, watch the show in the theatre and then watch the dancing and listen to the band in the Queens room. Mostly very enjoyable,as usual, but the variety of music played some nights seemed rather odd, to put it mildly. One evening devoted to "Soul & Motown" and another evening including hits from the Rolling Stones which soon cleared the dance floor and people simply trying to enjoy a quietish drink.Noted also only 2 guest dancers instead of on previous voyages at least 4 or 5. Generally most aspects of the trip were up to the usual Cunard expectation. The food and entertainment was as expected and i enjoyed participating in the guest choir which was very well led by 2 of the show singers. We took 3 excursions which did vary somewhat. On .the Sardinian coach trip we spent 2 hours, about half the total time, at a restaurant being entertained, somewhat repetitively, by a local traditional dance group whist nibbling on local food and drink.Much too long and i think we all would have preferred to see more of the island. Also over a hundred dollars each for a morning trip which was described as "no meal" The diembarking procedure for passangers being picked up by coach, taxi or "meet and greet" could be greatly improved. Hundreds of people , with their luggage standing around outsode the terminal trying to connect with whoever is meeting them. In our case we left the ship at 8 but it was nearly 11 before we left Southampton. However, overall a very enjoyable holidsay, with great weather and we were just pleased to be on board after variuous problems of recent years.
