We chose this trip so we could complete our visit to 7 Continents and Africa was the last one we needed. The Osiris is relatively new and only carries 80 passengers. The onboard experience was typical Viking. A great staff who always looked as if they wanted to be there with outstanding service. As for the included tours, I will admit we sure had a busy itinerary. The group was divided into 3 groups so they were not overly packed into the sites. My group had the a very knowledgeable Egyptologist/ Archeologist Osama Abd El-Hamid. We listened intently to every word he spoke as he is a wealth of knowledge. I am sure the other two guides were just as knowledgeable. I will say that the climate in August/September can be trying for some who do not tolerate heat and a later date would be better. Every venue we went to was amazing. As a retired Professional Pilot I have to say that viewing the sunrise from a hot air balloon over the Valley of the Kings was the highlight of the trip for me. I always wanted to take a Balloon flight but never got around to it. Book this cruise if you like adventure, you won't be disappointed all the way from the flights, the fantastic hotels we were put up in, and the river cruise itself. The process Viking has in place to meet you when you arrive and see you off when it's time to go home is commendable to say the least.
