I have been on several cruises now. Carnival breeze, inspiration and one others I cant remember. Royal Carribean Adventure of the Seas and now this one. This was by far my least favorite and most overpaid cruise. We upgraded to the Jr. Suite with Balcony since no other Balcony's were available. Room felt smaller than other ships, less space near couch area and balcony was basically standard balcony size.. I didnt feel that it had anymore room than regular balcony.
The food was very bland... not a lot of seasoning or tasteful. I found myself disappointed with almost every meal including the more fine dining evening meals. My wife upgraded to a steak two nights because the food was so disappointing.
The ship had one main dance / event area near the pools and there was only one show 2x per night (same show) each evening. After a couple nights, everyone on board realized this was the only real entertainment on board so it got crowded early and fast. After a while it felt like either we can hang out in a rooms, stand in the main event area or hope we can find a seat if we didnt get the 2 hours early, or go down to the bars where they have live music and some of the live music just wasnt good.
Port itself feels like a shipping yard. Nothing to look at or to really enjoy around town. Definitely need a cab to enjoy Athens.
The port was beautiful and nice but not near any shopping or restaurants. It is a long walk to anything near by or take a boat for a fee to the main area.
Beautiful port, best one of our trip. Fairly quick walking distance to nearby town, shopping resturants, boats, beautiful scenery. This port makes me want to come back to Split again.
This port is terribly directed... Finding directions to get to the "people mover" was difficult. Then no directions on what to do when you get the the people mover. Then you walk to an area where you finally see an MSC sign and get a bus to go to a port terminal, then wait for a boat that takes you to the ship. Hardly any directions and can start your trip very frustrated.
