BACKGROUND My brother, who has high expectations, had never cruised. Based on the reviews from several friends, I decided Disney would be perfect. This was my 5th cruise (3 on Royal, 1 on Carnival, and now 1 on Dismal). His daughter of 11 years old and our niece who was 21 years old were on the cruise too.
STATEROOMS My brother and his daughter had a Deluxe Stateroom with a Verandah. My niece and I had an Inside Stateroom. My Stateroom was great and the Stateroom attendant was wonderful. Definitely larger than other staterooms I've had - especially the bathroom.
SHIP The ship was much smaller than I expected. The pools were much smaller than those on the Royal and Carnival Cruises I've been on. It was cool that there was a huge screen showing Disney TV and Movies out by the pool. The stairways and elevators were tiny too which made getting around take longer than on other cruise lines. And decks 8 - 10 felt like the air conditioning didn't work. It was always uncomfortably hot in the buffet on Deck 9.
Cabin 7063 on Disney Wonder had a spacious (relatively speaking) bathroom with a bathtub so water didn't get everywhere when you showered. There was a flat screen TV with lots of good programming. Much more space & storage than on Royal or Carnival. Refrigerator in cabin was great! BUT NOT ENOUGH OUTLETS! Bring a power strip!!!
