We tend to be interested in the non-mainstream destinations. Not that many have not visited the countries on this itinerary, but they are not mainstream vacation destinations. We would likely never choose one or two of these countries and fly direct and build a vacation itinerary ourselves.

From the minute we boarded the Viking Ullur we were impressed with the crew and what was in front of us. We were excited for the countries and cities we were about to visit and could not wait to get started.

We came home exhausted, because not only did we pick a mix of included and optional excursions, if an included excursion fit our schedule, we were automatically booked for that even if we did not choose it. Many days we went out, came back for a short lunch and then headed back out again.

Cabin Review

French Balcony

Viking cabins are always clean and well appointed. We love the Viking bathrooms and because of the size of this bathroom both the main bathroom floor and the shower floor is heated. The river ship cabins are small - no doubt about that, but we don't upgrade from the base level cabin because we don't spend time there other than to sleep. If we are not off the ship we are on the sun deck taking in the scenery or the lounge.
