Pros: Booking in and boarding ship was very well organised, and we had no issues. Elegant ship in good repair with all of the facilities you would wish for. Excellent food at all levels and entertainment which caters for all. Cabin steward was attentive efficient and friendly. Public areas very clean and Queens Room especially very elegant and used a lot for dancing and concerts. Theater excellent with good sound system, seats and lighting. Entertainment was extremely professional and varied with great singers and dancers. Most of staff were friendly and efficient especially the waiting staff in the Britannia Restaurant. Ports of call were OK but nothing to write home about. Transportation was available and efficient. Only went on one trip to Utah Normandy beaches near Cherbourg which was an excellent trip with a knowledgeable guide. Left ship with no issues.
Cons: Extremely expensive for alcohol which included 18% service charge and because we were in Spanish waters for most of the trip an additional 10% for Spanish VAT. Example $20 (£15) for a simple gin and tonic and a bottle of wine (average) at $45 (£35) There was a lack of drinks waiters in most places including sun decks and bars. Large queues at bars who didn't want to wait for table service but they were frustrated as there were insufficient bar staff as well.
Overall: Cunard lived up to its portrayal and we would travel again with them but would need better
No issues with cabin. Toilet and shower quite small but well stocked with shampoo etc
OK but nothing to write home about except maybe the Guggenheim Museum but queus of people waiting to enter
