We chose this cruise as we had been impressed by Celebrity on a taster day visit we had done pre-Covid and because of the interesting itinerary.

We had been concerned about some negative reviews post-Covid suggesting standards had slipped. However, we got a decent deal with plenty of OBC so decided to press ahead. We were delighted that we did. The whole experience was first class, we could not believe that anybody could find fault with this ship and its crew.

The outstanding feature was the friendliness of the entire staff. Everybody stopped to smile, say hello and were happy to talk, no matter how hard they were working. Our steward, Shailesh, kept the room immaculate. The sommelier, Ajit, was happy to advise us on wine choices and talk about his life, even though we were only choosing the cheapest wines! Franky was ever smiling each night as he served our wonderful dinner.

Cabin Review

We had an aft balcony cabin which was spacious and had plenty of storage. There was a sofa to relax on and enjoy various TV channels including SSN. The bed was enormous and the most comfortable we have ever slept on! Bathroom had a shower and plenty of room.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

Celebrity provided free shuttles into the city on each day which was much appreciated. Beautiful city but very crowded. First day we visited National Museum which was fascinating and had great Viking display. Second day we walked out to Rosenborg Castle, getting there early so as to be back in time for early afternoon departure. However, after waiting for half and hour they then posted sign saying only those who had purchased timed tickets online would be admitted and no other slots available until late morning which would have meant us missing the boat. Plenty to see in city but food prices were prohibitive-£24 for club sandwich!

Oslo

Oslo was extremely easy to reach from the boat, literally 5 minutes walk away. It was surprisingly small with a lot of building work going on around the parliament area as a result of the aftermath of the terror attack in 2011. National Museum was well priced for seniors and had loads to see, could easily have spent all day in there.

Helsinki

Shuttle was provided at a reasonable price and we were glad we opted for this as else it would have been a very long walk. Fascinating food market by harbour where we were dropped; all sorts of meat for sale-reindeer, elk, moose etc with a dazzling array of fish. Lots of beautiful buildings to see, the highlight being the Russian Orthodox Cathedral where we witnessed a service which was fascinating. Church in the Rock is well worth the walk to see. Lots of grand shops, too.

Skagen

Skagen was a welcome contrast to the other places we visited as it was a small town. It was easy to walk into from the ship. We visited the art gallery which was crowded and a little disappointing. However, the town itself was very pretty and welcoming. We did not take any of the excursions available as we felt these were overpriced.

Stockholm

Stockholm was absolutely beautiful. We were very glad that the captain recommended getting up early to view the approach as this was outstanding. They opened up the helipad to give us a better view and we were delighted to be served complimentary hot chocolate as it was a chilly morning, another feather in Celebrity's cap! Again, we took the reasonably priced shuttle and walked around the Old Town first which was stunning and highly recommended. In the afternoon we took the local ferry to the Vasa Museum which was absolutely amazing, a must for anybody visiting the city.

Tallinn

Tallinn was another highlight of the cruise, it was extremely picturesque. Again, it was an easy walk from the ship and everything is contained within the city walls. It was the cheapest of the cities we visited so I would recommend buying gifts here, there were plenty to choose from! Everybody was very welcoming and spoke English. Lots of beautiful churches and viewpoints to admire. We were also grateful to the entertainment host's recommendation of honey beer, a local speciality, which was excellent.
