We took a 7 day cruise around Iceland in August, 2023. It was our first time on Viking, although we have been on many cruises, including Crystal, Regent, Paul Gaugin as well as Princess, Celebrity and Carnival. I would say that this was among the best, if not THE best, ship we have encountered. It was FAR better than our more recent trip on Regent which was a huge disappointment.

We booked 2 Penthouse Veranda suites (one for us, the other for our son and daughter and law). The suites were clean and well appointed. Our steward (Joni) was fast and responsive to any requests.

Check in was incredibly fast (although we didn't show up until a few hours after initial check in time). We had "pre checked in", so we pretty much got a key and went right on the ship. Read more
