First of all I have to say that without Cruise Critic I don't know how anyone can prepare for a cruise. The information that you find on the boards is invaluable. All our private excursions were booked using the suggestions of people that posted on the boards.

That said, we were so prepared for the cruise and had a fabulous time. We hired private transportation at every port including a boat in Grand Cayman for the swimming with the sting ray excursion. It was well worth it as there were 8 of us and we had our captain and mate helping us all the way getting the sting rays to cooperate for the perfect pictures! All the other boats and excursions that came in were jam packed with people and it was way too crowded for us. We then went snorkeling on our own and to the starfish beach. Great time.

In Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan we did the same thing, hired a private van. The cost is not much more and it really made our day excursions soooo much better. In Roatan especially we hired a driver from Victor Bodden and visited his home where he has a monkey preserve, don't miss it. However, zip lined at a more difficult zip line rather than the one at his house which they have no problem with. After that the driver took us to the West End Beach which has the BEST snorkeling we have ever done since it is the second largest living reef in the world. Hardly anyone from the ship was here. We had a wonderful lunch at Infinity resort and just walked out to snorkel, a virtual aquarium and an absolute not to miss experience. We are from Florida and do the islands often but this was like nothing we had ever seen.

Cabin C2

We were in Room 9296 (bump out room) and we also had 9298 and 9300. The room was not ready when we arrived. All drawers still had the remnants of the former guests as did the bathroom (used shower cap still hanging on the door hook). Balcony bits of food. We did not have the bottle of Grey Goose we had ordered prior to the trip but our other two rooms did. However, none of them had the mixers we ordered with them nor the cards I had sent with my best wishes to my kids. We had one of the bump units so our balcony was larger, which was great. We were never bothered by noise in the hallway or from crew. It was a great location and centrally located and close to the elevators. The bed was really comfortable but we could have done with more drawer space especially for two people on a 7 day cruise. I can't ever understand why the ships do not have hooks in the rooms. Passengers could use them for so much; hats, bags, clothing, etc.
