This was our second cruise and second with Oceania having cruised Alaska with the Regatta in 2017. We chose O for their smaller ships.
We had booked this same itinerary originally in May 2022 but rescheduled due to Covid. We were excited about the new ship but knew the Mediterranean in July would be crowded and hot. Little did we know how hot it would be. The heat and crowds overshadowed our cruise, not Oceania’s fault, but we would not visit the Mediterranean again in July.
The Vista is beautiful in a glass and mirrors sort of way. The Vista is very modern but I missed the teak of the Regatta. The faux plastic wood on the railings just isn’t the same. All the art on the Vista is modern art, not my thing. The aft elevators that don’t go to 5th floor are a pain. Maneuvering the stairs from the sixth to the fourth floors is tricky. The glass elevators that overlook the pool are cool. The ship never felt crowded. We didn’t use the pool because of the intense heat but it did always look too crowded. It is not a large pool. I used the spa terrace twice and that is really nice and was never crowded. Both hubby and I used the spa. He had acupuncture treatments for his back that was helpful and I had a mani pedi. The spa itself was a bit confusing to maneuver.
Cruising into the bay of Kotor, Montenegro is beautiful! The old town, walled city is clean and nice for meandering and shopping.
A trip to the beach, enjoyed swimming in the Mediterranean. Our guide was disappointing but outing was nice.
Only two ships in port so not overcrowded. The view from Oia is beautiful. The trip down the gondola went smoky.
