A beautiful ship and lots of positives but also lots of frustrations and lack of good management

First of all this was not the cruise we originally booked (that was the one the week before) as Vista had been privately chartered whilst we got some compensation the itinerary was not as good for us as the original, which had more Croatian ports.

Then two days before departure we received an e-mail stating that due to the Italian Air and Train strike the ship would remain in Trieste and miss out Split and Kotor the two ports we really wanted to visit! We were furious because like most sensible people we arrive the night before and the strike started on the day of departure so we felt we were being penalised for this who left it to the last minute. When we boarded it seemed like most people had made it and many like us were complaining that it seemed like a knee jerk reaction from people in Miami not familiar with the situation on the ground.

Like so many cruise lines, the people on bard seem to have little autonomy or empowerment to solve problems without referring to Head Office (which is often asleep when the problem is occurring in Europe).

Cabin Review

Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom

Beautifully designed and appointed with some excellent new features such as USB and C ports lots of plug options and the VERO water. Good TV, responsive and reasonable film choice. Shame they do not video and broadcast the enrichment lectures as on some ships.

Our Concierge Level Verandah cabin was so beautiful and well appointed and the bathroom the best we have encountered with an exceptional and huge shower.

The shower is really a delight and there is lots of storage in the bathroom.

However, the cabin itself was not as wide or as well appointed (storage in particular) as the Azamara Onward equivalent cabin we enjoyed last year.

We were towards the front and heard zero engine noise or vibration in fact the sailing was all out motion free sometimes we really did not know we were moving this is a very smooth and quiet ship although we did notice more vibration toward the back.

Our cabin attendant was very efficient and the cabin kept spotless but not very present or very engaged with us.
