Chaos began on Day 1 out of Norfolk, VA. Embarkation delayed due to surprise Coast Guard Inspection. Stewards were not able to clean/sanitize rooms and baths still had feces on it. Luggage extremely late being delivered, around 9:30. Monday we had early dining. Within 2 hours of eating, I began volatile vomiting and it continued all night long. Looking for something for my condition the medical facility was closed. Continued illness and trying again the next morning still closed. First stop Bimini was ridiculous. Still ill so wasn't able to get off boat. Second stop Nassau/Bahamas, got off boat and due to EXTREME HEAT, was not able to stay out long enough to explore. Third stop, Freeport, I began to feel somewhat better so we got off the boat and gave it our best effort to enjoy. Very clean, no Vendors up in our face trying to attach necklaces, bracelets, hats, etc. The cruise was WAY too crowded with unruly and unaccompanied children and adults playing with the ice cream machines and wasting cones, running up and down the halls at all hours of the night. Not a chance to sleep soundly. Drunk girls wallowing in the hall, screaming some guys name. Marijuana suffocating us inside our room 2 different times.

Food was not up to par, you could tell it was leftovers. Bread was hard, no decent access to salt. The only thing we enjoyed was 2 comedians that were there. Everything was disappointing from our other cruises. Disembarkation was a nightmare as well. We carried off our luggage and there was no rhyme or reason to the organization. Shuffled in lines. Lady told me to put one of my small cases on top of the other one. Couldn't maneuver it that way. Finally got to the escalator(relief). The guy at the bottom just stopped it suddenly and my husband and brother in law almost fell over forward. The port has no shuttle service, no taxis, no ubers, had to walk to the Dominion parking deck. We are not young. Will not go out of this port EVER AGAIN and probably Never cruise with Carnival Again. A Disappointing Waste of Money and nothing but Sad Memories. Still sick when we got home. After a 6 hour ER visit and tests, was diagnosed with Type A flu, as did all the rest of our 9 Person Party. Found out later that one of our Stewards also had the flu.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Overwhelming with the number of island people pushing their wares, even to the point of putting necklaces and bracelets on you and arguing with other salespersons trying to talk at the same time. Not enjoyable experience

Freeport

Very nice and clean. No over pushy people trying to outdo each other for your purchases. Grounds were clean and free of trash. A Really Beautiful Island with new colorful buildings and Friendly helpful, not pushy people. Just a Little Pricey but enjoyed our visit

Norfolk

This port was a Very Big Disappointment. They were not organized at all. The ability to get any type of shuttle, uber, taxi service was not offered and the people you asked about those available services were not very helpful, only stating I guess you'll have to walk. They need to do a lot of improvements to those type things. People who are at a certain age are not going to go out of this port. We had driven for 12 hours the day before, thinking there would be some type of transportation to the port. Exhausting walk to the port, almost a mile dragging our luggage down those beautiful brick sidewalks. Won't make this mistake again.
