Sail Date: Apr 2023

We have sailed Hurtigruten before so we were keen to compare this new cruise line. We sailed 4 nights on the southbound voyage from Tromso to Bergen. We were struck by many things that together made this such an enjoable experience:

1. The friendliness of the crew. Many were seasoned Hurtigruten route experts, they seemed so happy and proud to this new ship.

2. The beauty of the ship - the interior design work was quite special, you could see Havila have invested in high quality and exceptionally comfortable furnishing.

Cabin Review

We had starboard side aft, it was beautiful and so spacious, including the most comfortable chair I've ever sat on, it's called Sting and made by Norwegian furniture maker, Brunstad. The cabin had everything we needed. This was the quietest cabin we've ever experienced in 20 years of being on ships. I'm sure the hybrid power systems, plus being a new ship help explain this, but we slept so well. To wake up and have snow on the balcony and the most spectacular blue skies was quite something. My only criticism was the location of the bathrobe hooks being on the door at eye level as you exit the bathroom. Putting the bathrobes on the hook made it much safer.
