My wife and I chose Viking for our first Ocean Cruise largely because of our wonderful experiences with Viking on several River Cruises, including Russia, China and our Sojourn through Europe. We were not disappointed in the least. The Orion was fresh, clean and offered everything we could have wanted. What was missing was a casino and young children, and we praise Viking for those details. I was concerned that we would feel "crowded" on the Orion, but it was quite the opposite. Meals could be had where and when we wanted and common areas were never overwhelmed with passengers. Bars and lounges were top-notch. Live entertainment was very enjoyable and varied. The staff of the Orion was friendly and always willing to make our cruise as enjoyable as possible. We opted to take the 6-day Pristine Alaska before we began our cruise and that was an awesome adventure. Land excursions during the cruise were many and varied. There was something for everyone. Transfers were a breeze. Overall, our Alaskan Cruise on the Orion was superb.
