We did the France river cruise going south from Lyon to Nice years ago. We had excellent experience with it & really enjoyed, so we like to go on this cruise to see the northern part of France, mainly the history rich region of Normandy including the D-Day beaches in WII. We really enjoyed everything from service to itineraries if this cruise as well, specially worthy to mention our program director Heloise. She is not only a very knowledgeable in many aspects of the humanities history, art, landscape & French food cuisine, but a very passionate, dedicated & caring person! More importantly, she speaks English fluently & is an excellent speaker. It’s huge plus for us! We feel so lucky to have her as our program director for this wonderful trip! There are couple things that can be improved as we feel. 1) ship docking location. The docking location in Paris for our cruise is just too far from the city center & as well as from the public transportation station, such as metro line or bus. 2) food quality & choices. Comparing to the previous river cruises we had with GCCL. This time, the lunch & dinner food quality is not as good as before, specially the seafood quality & choices. It might be due to the inflation in recent year, but it’s one of the important things people takes cruise.
