We chose this cruise as a high school graduation present for our son who took German all four years. What a great way to visit 4 coutries at one time! This was a great way to dip our toe into international travel as Avalon was with us every step of the way. The excursions were lovely and the staff we fantastic. Our room was located right next to the engine room so next time I will definitely look for a room closer to the middle to front of the ship. I also wouldn't hesitate for a room on the first deck as not much time was spent in the room so the big picture window wasn't really necessary. Not to mention, when the drapes are open, the room gets very hot! I loved sitting in a lounge chair on the sky deck while watching the world go by. I can't wait for my next river cruise.
