Just returned from Cruise/Stay on Thomson Dream. After having been on two previous Thomson ships (Spirit and Emerald, we were looking forward to our holiday on Thomson's latest edition to their fleet. That was until a family member returned in mid-May from a week on the Dream and told us about the problems being encountered. After reading further reviews on Cruise Critic, we were quite concerned and contacted Thomson regarding the issues being raised i.e air conditioning not working, sewage smells on the ship and blocked toilets. We received an email from Thomson on the 3rd June that some cabins had experienced problems but these were being rectified and that the air conditioning was working with general consistency throughout the ship. On the 5th June we received a further email saying that the technical fault causing the unpleasant smell in some parts of the ship had been corrected and did not expect it to return.

It was obvious on entering our cabin on level 6 that the air conditioning was not working. When we contacted customer services, they told us there was a slight problem with a few cabins and the problem would be rectified prior to sailing that evening. After several phone calls and visits to the desk we managed to obtain an electric fan. The air conditioning didn't operate at all for the first three days. We asked for a change of cabin to be told that the ship was full and none were available.

There was a stale smell mainly in the mid-section on certain levels and on the last two days it was particularly repugnant not only in the corridor but also in our cabin.
