Had wanted to go on Rhine for a few years. A busy and interesting river which is still very much a working river as well as
for leisure. There was only 100 passengers on board so it was not crowded. The Rhine Gorge was very nice with castles
and lovely houses and vines. The towns and cities were busy especially the Cathedrals. We mostly took a map from the ship and found our own way to the visit the smaller towns. Care needs to be taken even if you are walking in a group from the ship. Two people joined our waling group in Strasbourg and tried to steal a passengers bag however they were seen by another passenger who managed to prevent this. Heidelberg was very nice and we went up to see the views from the castle before having a coffee by the bridge. We enjoyed Boppard as well as there were many flowers and coffee shops
We chose a cabin with a balcony on deck three which was very nice, we enjoyed the views as we glided past many lovely houses and castles. The red trains raced passed as did the many barges moving cargo. The room had all the storage we needed and was kept to a high standard by our cabin steward. We visited many nice places the weather in July 2023 was good and we only had one very hot day. The room was kept nice and cool so sleeping was not an issue. Of course a balcony does cost more money but we felt it added to the enjoyment of the cruise overall. We both agreed the resident entertainer could not sing and that is reflected in the marking above. The entertainers who came aboard on route for the evening were much better.
